‘Twas two nights before Christmas
And all through Mobile
Not a creature was stirring
Not even a Mountaineer
The jerseys were hung
In the lockers with care
In hopes that a bowl win
Would soon be there
Toledo fans were all nestled
In their seats with some dread
As visions of the 2016 Camellia Bowl
Danced in their heads
The Rocket fans in blue
And App State fans in black
Had just settled into town
To watch the Sun Belt play the MAC
When out on the field
There rose such a clatter
I sprang from the bleachers
To see what was the matter
When what to my wondering
Eyes should appear
It was the Jason Candle
And some returning players from last year
They were fresh off of winning
The MAC Championship Game
Candle whistled and shouted
And called them by name
“Now, Woodside, now Thompkins,
now Seymour and Jon’Vea,
On Swanson and Danzel
On Weiss, and Diontae!
