Cleveland, Ohio -- Today the Mid-American Conference announced that Toledo’s Tre’Shaun Fletcher and Buffalo’s Nate Oats have earned top honors for the 2017-18 men’s basketball season. Fletcher was named Player of the Year, while Oats was tabbed Coach of the Year. The Player of the Year and Coach of the Year awards were voted on by a 19-member panel made up of News Media Association members and the league’s 12 head coaches.
Fletcher leads the Rockets with 18.7 points (3rd in MAC), 8.2 rebounds (4th in MAC) and 4.5 assists per game (3rd in MAC) and is the only MAC player to rank in the Top 10 in each category.
