OXFORD, Ohio— Miami outfielder Zach MacDonald was selected in the 15th round of the 2024 MLB Draft today by the Detroit Tigers. MacDonald, a Portage, Mich. native, was the 446th overall pick.
MacDonald started in all 54 of Miami's games and closed out the season with career-highs in batting average (.337), fielding percentage (.994), hits (70), home runs (20), on-base percentage (.462), OPS (1.145), RBI (62), runs scored (65), slugging percentage (.683) and stolen bases (15). His 20 home runs this season are tied for second in program history.
