YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The University of Akron volleyball team recovered from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Duquesne 3-2 and finish an undefeated 3-0 at the YSU DoubleTree-Youngstown Volleyball Invitational on Saturday by scores of 25-22, 24-26, 23-25, 25-23 and 15-13.
Following the match, senior RS Teagan Ochaya (Mentor, Ohio) was named YSU DoubleTree-Youngstown Volleyball Invitational MVP, while seniors LS Alexis Adleta (West Chester, Ohio) and S Emily Weigand (Burton, Ohio) earned all-tournament team honors.
Akron opened the match with a first-set win (25-22), but the Dukes rallied for a 2-1 set advantage to set the stage for the Zips comeback.
