Week one in Athens brings two overtimes and a boatload of points.
Greg Windham dropped back to pass for the two point conversion in triple overtime in his first game as Ohio’s starting quarterback and was met chest-to-chest by Ishmael Davis of Texas State to end the game 56-54 in favor of the visitors.
What started as a relatively low scoring game accelerated with the start of the fourth quarter as the two teams combined for 73 points in the fourth quarter and three overtimes combined.
The front seven for Ohio’s defense was able to cause problems continuously in the first three quarters with five sacks; however, following a 75-yard touchdown pass that gave Ohio a three point lead, Ohio’s defense was facing its biggest series of the night.
