AKRON, Ohio — The University of Akron Department of Athletics is proud to announce that former two-time All-American and national champion Meaggan Pettipiece has been named the Zips' head softball coach.
The hiring is pending approval by the University's Board of Trustees.
"We are excited to welcome Meaggan to the Zips' family," Director of Athletics Larry Williams said. "She has so many of the attributes of a highly successful leader. She is focused, driven, and inspiring. But above all, she is completely committed to the development of talented student-athletes through sport. I am confident that our softball student-athletes will benefit greatly from her mentorship and guidance, and together the program will achieve many new levels of remarkable success.
