AVON, Ohio – No. 5 seed Northern Illinois exploded for five runs in the seventh inning and finished with a 6-3 win over No. 6 seed Ohio on Friday night at Sprenger Stadium.

The Huskies scored five in the bottom of the seventh to turn a 2-1 deficit into a 6-2 advantage. Kam Smith doubled to left and scored on Jordan Larson's single up the middle.
