MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan's Micaela Kelly has been picked as the 2021 Preseason Mid-Major Player of the Year by the writers at ESPNW.
Kelly, a senior from Detroit, earned the Mid-American Conference Player of the Year Award in 2020 when she led the Chippewas to their fourth-consecutive regular-season league title. She ranked second in the conference and fifth nationally in scoring at 21.5 points per game while earning First Team All-MAC and All-MAC Defensive Team honors.
Kelly enters her final season at CMU ranking eighth in program history with 1,529 points. She ranks fourth all-time among Chippewas in points per game (15.
