Nearly everyone has been affected by cancer in some shape or form, and sports have provided a platform to raise money and awareness for the disease.
In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the NFL is promoting “Crucial Catch,” a movement where players can wear apparel of different colors to raise awareness of a certain form of cancer.
The Miami-Ohio Redhawks football team is following suit, allowing each player to select a helmet featuring a colored ribbon to signify cancer awareness. Over 100 RedHawks players will don a helmet of a form of cancer that has significantly affected their life.
