TAMPA, Fla. -- MACtion is hitting Tampa with Super Bowl LV to be played this Sunday, Feb. 7th between the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Noteable MAC alums are sprinkled throughout both teams rosters.
A total of 10 former student-athletes from Mid-American Conference institutions are on the rosters of the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In addition. Tampa Bay offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich (Marshall, '02) and Kansas City running backs coach Deland McCullough (Miami, '96) will be representing the MAC from the sidelines.
This year's Super Bowl will be played at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, marking the first time in NFL history for a team to play in a Super Bowl hosted at their home stadium.
