There are 4 coveted spots in the MAC regular season standings, as the top 4 receive the crucial bye in the conference tournament. Currently the Central Michigan Chippewas sit at 7-2, tied with 2 other teams in second place. They are only a half game behind the 8-2 Ohio Bobcats. Both teams meet tomorrow afternoon in Mount Pleasant. Aside from the MAC implications, the Chippewas are working toward a possible NCAA Tournament at-large invite. If the season ended today I think Central Michigan would be a shoe-in. They have a top 25 RPI ranking and made the Sweet 16 last season.
