The Cardinals (18-9, 4-0 MAC) made fools out of Indiana-Kokomo with a five-run second inning and a four-run fifth inning as the offense scored 13 hits on the day. BSU is currently sitting pretty as the only unbeaten team in the MAC.
Ball State started the scoring right from the start with John Ricotta putting down a RBI-single in the first inning and capped off the scoring in the following inning with a three-RBI double. The Cougars never really threatened the Cards as they scored off of a defensive error in the seventh inning to stop the bleeding at 12-1 but a pitching change for BSU led to a grand slam for IU-Kokomo in the ninth inning before consecutive outs ended the game.
