MAC Softball Player of the Week Akron redshirt freshman Molly McChesney turned in a breakout week for the Zips batting .833 as she went 5-for-6 in a pair of games at Delaware State. In the Zips' season opener against the Hornets, she went 2-for-3, with a run scored and a stolen base. She then helped propel Akron to a 3-0 triumph past Delaware State in the nightcap going 3-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base. In game one, McChesney opened the top of the seventh inning with a bunt single before getting into scoring position with a steal of second base.
