Kent State's Danniel Thomas Claims NCAA Shot Put Title

EUGENE, Ore. - After lofting the second farthest throw in collegiate history, Kent State's Danniel Thomas claimed the 2017 NCAA Women's Shot Put Title. The redshirt-senior threw a career best 62' 10" (19.15m) to secure the crown and first team All-America honors. Miami's Danielle Collier and Marth Szekely also earned All-America recognition. Collier threw 159-5 (48.59m) in the javelin to place 22nd, while Szekely hurled a 200-1 (61.0m) in the weight throw to place 17th. Both earning All-America honorable mention accolades.
