In an exciting victory over defending Mid-American Conference champions, University of Akron, sophomore Casey Gavigan paced the Eagles with a sweep in the backstroke events and contributing to a third place medley relay finish, bringing in a meet-high 18 points. Starting the meet off with the fastest 50 backstroke split in the 200 medley relay, Gavigan used a pair of season-best times in the back events to rack in a pair of first-place finishes. In the 100 back, she clocked in at 55.39 for the top-finish, before leading an Eastern 1-2 punch in the 200 back, touching in at 2:01.
