Corey Davis breaks FBS career receiving yards record

Meet your new king, NCAA receivers.

Corey Davis passed Trevor Insley against Toledo with a 13 yard catch followed by a 7 yard catch. The reception moved him past the 5,005 yard mark that was held by Trevor Insley for 17 years, as Davis also became the second player ever to break the 5,000 receiving yards barrier at the FBS level.

NOTE: The below is assuming the record play is NOT a touchdown

With his next touchdown catch, Davis will become the first receiver in the FBS with a 300/5,000/50 line. That is, he’ll have 300 career receptions, 5,000 career yards, and 50 career receiving touchdowns.
