The Central Michigan Chippewas (2-0) routed the Northern Illinois Huskies (0-2) 40-10 on Wednesday night. After a close first 30 minutes of play, the Chips pull away early in the third quarter and kept their foot down.
CMU scored on the second play of the game, a 58-yard touchdown pass to Dallas Dixon, before the Huskie defense tightened up and held the Chips from scoring on offense again in the first half.
In fact, Central had 74 yards on their first drive and then just had 60 yards the rest of the half.
