Central Michigan Life is reporting that defensive back Brian Edwards will be transferring from the Florida Gators into greener pastures in Mount Pleasant and the Central Michigan Chippewas. Edwards, a Hollywood, Florida native, spent two seasons with the Gators.
He appeared in ten games as a true freshman in 2017, when the Gators were coached by current Central Michigan head coach Jim McElwain. Edwards saw action in eight games a year ago, with seven tackles, four breakups, one hurry and one fumble recovery.
Edwards, who stands 6’2 and tips the scales at 192 was arrested earlier this off-season by Gainesville Police after an alleged assault of his girlfriend.
