SPRINGFIELD, Ohio -- Seven past Ball State men’s golfers have gone on to play in major championships … more than 30 of them in total. But no Cardinal has played in one while still in college. Until now.

Timothy Wiseman, who just wrapped up his junior year for the Cardinals, will compete in the 118th U.S. Open next week at Shinnecock Hills in New York. The Corydon, Indiana, native earned one of five advancing spots out of Monday’s sectional qualifier at Springfield Country Club in Ohio to secure his bid.

Dubbed “the longest day in golf,” Monday’s action featured more than 800 competitors at 11 sites across the country and in England.
