Akron, Buffalo, Ohio and Ball State have all secured an automatic BYE to Cleveland as the top 4 seeds in the Mid-American Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament.
Akron has had the coveted one-seed for awhile and were the regular-season champions of the MAC, but the other three didn’t find out their fates until they hit the floor Friday night.
A ton of tiebreakers had to be put to good use to get it all worked out, but the results largely spoke for themselves:
- Ball State 87, Northern Illinois 82 (Ball State jumped to 4-seed)
- Western Michigan 88, Central Michigan 80 (CMU secured 11-seed)
- Buffalo 80, Bowling Green 63 (Buffalo secured top 4 seed)
- Toledo 60, Eastern Michigan 56 (Toledo secured 7-seed, host game)
- Ohio 69, Miami 55 (Ohio secured top 4-seed)
- Akron, Kent State (Kent State fell to 6-seed)
Here's the bracket as it currently looks:
