UNLV Rebels vs. Michigan Wolverines Preview & Prediction

The Michigan Wolverines (1-1) bounced back from a gutting opening loss to Utah with a dominating all-around performance against the Oregon State Beavers last week. They'll look to keep the momentum going with a home victory over a UNLV Rebels team (0-2) coming off a 38-3 trouncing at the hands of the UCLA Bruins. Who's got the edge in this one? Check out our Michigan Wolverines vs. UNLV Rebels Preview & Prediction.

Line: Michigan by 10

What's The Stakes?

UNLV is looking to shed its current stature as a FBS bottom feeder with a victory over Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines in Ann Arbor. Michigan has a chance to put its opening defeat out of mind and hit the quarter turn in good shape for a bowl berth.

Key To The Game:

Michigan's offensive line has allowed just one sack in the team's first two games. UNLV's pass rush is spotty at best, so it'll be up to the Wolverines and QB Jake Rudock to take advantage of such first-class protection and carve up a relatively stout Rebels secondary early and often.

Can UNLV's secondary build on last Saturday's performance against UCLA?

Prediction: Michigan 31, UNLV 3

UNLV may very well be one of the worst D1 teams going this year. Michigan's offense is still a work in progress, but they should have no problem gaining traction against a Rebels defense that is thin on front-seven talent and overall scheme cohesion. Take Michigan going away as a double-digit favorite.
