Tyrone Wheatley Jr. is no longer a member of the Michigan Wolverines football program. The Tight End has left the program today, reports Chat Sports' Michigan insider, James Yoder.
Wheatley, the son of former Michigan coach Tyrone Wheatley, was a 4-star recruit. He was the #12 TE and #312 overall recruit.
Wheatly Jr. had not made much of an impact for the Wolverines in his time in Ann Arbor. He's caught just 6 passes for 61 yards in his time.
Wheatly had fallen behind on the depth chart for the Wolverines and wasn't in line to make a major impact. Zach Gentry or Sean McKeon are likely to start. Nick Eubanks and/or Mustapha Muhammad are next in line behind Gentry and McKeon.
It's unclear what the future holds for Wheatley, who could try to transfer somewhere else.
