Zach Werenski to Captain Team USA at World Juniors in Helsinki

USA Hockey announced Zach Werenski will captain Team USA at the 2016 World Junior Championships in Helsinki. Per MGoBlue, he joins current NHLers Kevin Porter (2006) and Eric Nystrom (2003) as the third ever Michigan Hockey player to lead the squad.

This is an interesting time for Michigan on a national level, considering just a year ago that seemingly the scoring majority of Michigan's top six forwards (Dylan Larkin, JT Compher, and Tyler Motte) and its best defenseman in Werenski made the trip to the WJC in Canada, leaving Steve Racine and Andrew Copp to carry the team at the Great Lakes Invitational.
