There was nothing elaborate about the design of this particular inbounds play. But thanks to Brandon Johns and his Vince Carter-esque leaping ability, the sequence ended with a healthy dose of thunder.
Johns, a 6-foot-8 senior forward from East Lansing High School, went up above the crowd and hammered home the loudest dunk in all of Michigan on Tuesday night.
The alley-oop helped East Lansing to a 74-67 overtime victory over Grand Ledge in a showdown of 11-2 teams. The two clubs also entered play with matching 7-2 marks in the CAAC Blue division.
Johns started slowly with just eight points at the half.
