Michigan fell behind by double-digit leads in each half to Iowa on Saturday evening, battling back both times, but never managing to reclaim the lead. Falling 71-61 to the Hawkeyes, the Wolverines picked up their fourth loss in five games and saw their hopes of reaching the NCAA Tournament take a significant hit.
The Maize and Blue struggled defensively to contain Jarrod Uthoff, who after the series of games struggling outside, hit four three-pointers on his way to a 29-point outing.
“He was a big difference in that game. We couldn’t stop him enough,” noted Michigan head coach John Beilein.
