Wolverines to face Tulsa in NCAA Tournament

Considered a bubble team heading into the selection process, the Wolverines’ resume proved strong enough to send them into the NCAA Tournament. Michigan will start out playing Tulsa in the East Regional play-in game on Wednesday in Brooklyn, N.Y., with the winner facing Notre Dame.

Tulsa finished the season 20-11, falling in the AAC Championship game to Memphis. The Wolverines and Golden Hurricane have two common opponents in UConn and SMU. Tulsa lost to UConn twice and split meetings with SMU, while Michigan lost both games.

The matchup is the first time that the two programs have faced off, but if the Wolverines advance, they will face a familiar foe having racked up a 15-7 record against the Fighting Irish.
