Wolverines stop QB sneak on final play for 29-26 win

MINNEAPOLIS – Michigan never imagined more drama than the last game against Michigan State.

But Saturday night at Minnesota came close.

The Wolverines trailed much of the night, lost their quarterback and had an imploding defense.

But when the defense needed to make one play, a goal-line stop with 2 seconds left, it was there.

Michigan survived a wild game against the Gophers, winning, 29-26, at TCF Bank Stadium.

The Wolverines (6-2, 3-1 Big Ten) stopped Minnesota quarterback Mitch Leidner on the goal line after interim coach Tracy Claeys decided to go for the win instead of an overtime-forcing field goal.
