The start of fall preparations for the football season have a long history at Michigan of being paired with some sort of fan celebration, but the program announced on Friday a change in that approach. The annual Youth Day event will no longer be held this year, instead moving to the spring due to a change in team scheduling.
“We don't make this decision lightly as it impacts a wide range of people including our youngest and most enthusiastic fans,” said Associate Athletic Director Kurt Svoboda. “In considering our program's fall practice schedule, it became evident that a spring date offered far more flexibility than an August timeframe as our team prepares for the season.
