Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh described his secondary as an ascending unit coming out of the victory over UNLV. While it wasn’t necessarily a weakness last year, there have certainly been steps forward. That group has already surpassed its interception total from a year ago, while breaking up passes at a much faster rate. It’s a level of performance that has inspired more than a little confidence.
According to junior cornerback Jourdan Lewis, the reach of the secondary could go beyond just exceeding last year’s accomplishments.
“We can be the best, honestly, in the country, if we just continue to use our technique,” said Lewis of the secondary on Monday.
