The Wolverines' success early in the season, and the unusual way they lost their second game, has given them some leeway with the pollsters through the later portions of the season. Michigan had consistently been the one of the highest ranked two-loss teams, if not the highest. The the nature of the third loss though, even against a top-10 team, was enough to shift opinions about Michigan just a bit.
