Michigan picked up a commitment from Leonard Taylor of Springfield, Ohio in early April, shortly after the 2018 tight end / defensive end visited for the Wolverines’ Spring Game. That pledge didn’t last long though with the 6-5, 240 pounder announcing on Twitter Monday afternoon that he would reopen his recruitment.
“I would like to thank the whole UM family of fans and coaches for the wonderful opportunity in this recruiting process,” Taylor wrote. “After much discussion with my family, I have decided I will back off my commitment to the University of Michigan. I truly feel this is the best course of action in order to make the right decision for me.
