Wolverines jacked for Michael Jordan appearance

Former Michigan defensive end Mike Martin witnessed dozens of pre-kickoff coin flips during his four years in Ann Arbor, but none involved Michael Jordan.

Michigan’s current roster, odd as it might sound, will witness exactly that before the Sept. 3 opener against Hawaii at Michigan Stadium.

Jim Harbaugh told the NFL Network last week that, as part of the school’s transition to using Nike as its official merchandise and apparel provider, Jordan will serve as Michigan’s honorary captain for that game. The prospect is generating excitement from current and former players.

“It’s nice,” said current Michigan defensive end Taco Charlton on Sunday at Martin’s youth football camp at Pioneer High School.
