Michigan only held a four point lead over Clemson in the coaches poll a week ago, so it didn’t take much for the ranking order to change. In fact, the Wolverines gained one point, but the Tigers saw a greater rise, perhaps benefitting from losses by Texas A&M or Nebraska on various ballots.
Ohio State came in fifth in the coaches poll and sixth in the AP, while Wisconsin was No. 7 in each ranking. Penn State continued its recent rise in the rankings, now coming in at No. 12 in the AP and No. 14 via the coaches.
