Michigan picked up a new commitment early on Wednesday morning, flipping German native Julius Welschof from his previous pledge to Georgia Tech. The 6-foot-6, 250-pound defensive end prospect announced his decision on Twitter.
“It was a hard decision. I stayed up last night until three in the morning, thinking about every scenario that was best for me,” Welschof explained in a posted video. “I want to thank both the colleges that gave me the opportunity, but at the end of the day, I have to think about myself. I want to get to the NFL and I think the best way to do that is to go with Michigan, with the best coaches, the best players.
