Wolverines defeat No. 4 Michigan State on the road

After starting the week with a disappointing close loss against No. 5 Purdue, Michigan had a chance to earn redemption on Saturday afternoon taking on the team ranked one spot higher. Facing in-state rival Michigan State on the road, the Wolverines did exactly that, claiming an 82-72 victory.

Through nearly the first 35 minutes of play, no team had led by more than five points, but Michigan used an 11-2 run to pull ahead, holding off the Spartans’ efforts to come back.

The Wolverines were led by Moritz Wagner, who made Michigan State pay both inside and outside, scoring 27 points, including 3-of-4 made shots from the beyond the arc.
