Lincoln, Neb. — The scuffling Wolverines arrived at Pinnacle Bank Arena with the season in danger of completely teetering off the tracks.
And with senior guard Zavier Simpson back in Ann Arbor and junior forward Isaiah Livers sidelined, Michigan desperately needed someone to step up.
Junior guard Eli Brooks, sophomore forward Brandon Johns Jr. and freshman wing Franz Wagner all answered the bell and Michigan used a 21-4 second-half to pull out a much-needed 79-68 win over Nebraska on Tuesday night.
Brooks finished with 20 points and nine rebounds and Wagner added 18 points and eight rebounds for Michigan (12-8, 3-6), which snapped its four-game losing skid and picked up its first true road win of the season.
