Out recruiting the likes of Alabama, Texas A&M, OSU and others is very difficult these days. NIL took what happened in the dark to the light and still the NCAA doesn't know what to do with it. Michigan last season had a great year on the field but a down year recruiting. We know some of the reasons, Harbaugh's flirtation with the NFL, losing both coordinators, and a complicated NIL program. Michigan should never have a 15-20 ranked class; it always should be in the top 10.
So far 2024 has been a different story and Michigan has landed a verbal commit from a 5-star QB and a number of 4-star prospects.
