Ann Arbor — Their best player is out, and nobody knows for how long. Big Ten hopes, NCAA Tournament hopes, it all seemed capable of teetering. But on the most important night of the season so far, the Wolverines showed what they have, and not what they’re missing.
They have terrific shooters, lots of them, and they shot their way through uncertainty Tuesday night with their first signature victory. Michigan edged No. 3 Maryland 70-67 in a performance that at least alleviated some doubt, and enhanced its chances.
One game doesn’t define a season, but the Wolverines are determined to show one injury doesn’t derail it.
