Jim Harbaugh is a romantic.
He talked about some of the things that swell his nostalgic tendencies Thursday afternoon during Michigan’s football media day, and what the start of preseason camp means to him:
Fresh-cut grass.
Football all day.
The sound of cleats on concrete.
Easing out of the womb into chaos, then molding a team from that chaos.
Leave it to Harbaugh to use birth as a metaphor for building a team and for waxing nostalgic about fresh-cut grass when the games at Michigan Stadium are now played on artificial turf.
No matter.
