Soon after leaving his post as Jim Harbaugh’s right-hand man at Michigan football in 2017, Biff Poggi returned to his hometown of Baltimore.
There, he assumed control of an high school program that transformed into a national power virtually overnight. In the coming years, Poggi’s St. Frances Panthers sent talent to the biggest programs in college football, including Alabama, LSU and Michigan. But Maryland, the Big Ten school next door, was written off as a potential destination among the top prospects dotting Poggi’s roster.
