It was around June 10 when Ambry Thomas first noticed something was wrong.

The Michiganfootball cornerback had been experiencing discomfort with his stomach — pain akin to cramps. Thomas told his doctor. Then he made a trip to the emergency room.

There, he received the diagnosis: colitis, an inflammatory reaction in the colon.
