The coronavirus pandemic has opened the door for Michigan baseball coach Erik Bakich to change the future of college baseball.
He is the leader of the proposed "New Baseball Model," a 35-page document that projects to cut costs and increase revenue for programs nationwide, especially in cold-weather regions. The plan pushes the season back four weeks, starting in mid-March and finishing the College World Series in late July.
