With Michigan Wolverines wide receivers coach Jim McElwain being named the next head coach for Central Michigan, there’s a void that needs filling.
While Michigan may ultimately interview a handful of coaches for the vacancy, they might could decide to promote someone that’s already in the organization.
The two names that come to mind are Roy Roundtree and Ben McDaniels.
Roundtree, a former Michigan wide receiver, is currently a graduate assistant for Michigan working with the wideouts. Roundtree was the wide receivers coach for Indiana State in 2017.
McDaniels, the brother of New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, was an offensive analyst for Michigan this season, but he will now be the interim wide receivers coach through the Peach Bowl, per Jim Harbaugh.
