Ann Arbor -- A second consecutive missed NCAA Tournament appearance in the eighth and ninth years of coach John Beilein's tenure would've been a bad look.
Beilein and the Wolverines can exhale a little now.
On the strength of a stunning victory over top-seeded Indiana in the Big Ten tournament, Michigan is in the NCAA Tournament, announced Sunday night.
Michigan (22-12) was one of the final four teams in, so it will open in a play-in game in Dayton, Ohio, against Tulsa (20-11) of the American Athletic Conference on Wednesday in the East Region. The winner of that 11-seed game would meet sixth-seeded Notre Dame in Brooklyn, New York, in the next round.
