Werenski, Incoming Freshman Connor Selected in 2015 NHL Draft

SUNRISE, Fla. -- University of Michigan ice hockey sophomore defenseman Zach Werenski and incoming freshman Kyle Connorbecame the 19th and 20th players in program history selected in the first round of the NHL Entry Draft. Werenski was selected 8th overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets, and Connor was taken 17th overall by the Winnipeg Jets on Friday (June 26) at BB&T Center, home of the Florida Panthers. For just the third time in program history (2005, 2006, 2015), Michigan has placed two players in the first round of the NHL Draft.
