Transfers Chaundee Brown (Wake Forest) and Mike Smith (Columbia) impressed in Michigan Basketball’s season opener win against the BGSU Falcons 96-82. After only 1 point in the first half, Brown warmed up from beyond the 3-point line, putting up 18 second-half points to continue to put Michigan ahead of the Falcons.
Mike Smith showed to be a capable replacement of Zavier Simpson, at least offensively. He was consistently driving to the basket, dishing out passes nicely and finishing around the basket himself at an impressive rate. He posted 8 assists to only 1 turnover as the clear starting PG.
