Versatile Inside-Outside Game Helps U-M Cruise Past Penn State

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's basketball team used a versatile inside-outside game that featured 14 three-pointers and 30 points in the paint to earn a 23-point win, 79-56, over Penn State, and a perfect 2-0 start in Big Ten Conference play, on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 2) inside Crisler Center.

The Wolverines caught fire early on, shooting 66 percent (19-for-29) in the first half, including 66 percent (10-for-15) from three-point range, in the first half. Michigan finished the game with a 59 percent (29-for-49) shooting percentage and 14 three pointers (14-for-25; 56 percent), tying its second most threes of the season.
