When: 10 p.m. Friday.
Where: Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Alabama.
TV: FS1.
Line: Off.
Game notes: If you’re a believer that this iteration of the USFL is a continuation of the original league from the early 1980s, then you should be stoked for the Michigan Panthers’ matchup this week at 10 p.m. on FS1; the game against the Philadelphia Stars is a rematch of the 1983 USFL title game (won by Michigan in a familiar-looking plum and champagne, 24-22).
If, however, you believe the two leagues are linked by name only, well, there’s a decent matchup of U-M products, as quarterback Shea Patterson should get most of the snaps this week for the Panthers after Paxton Lynch was injured in Week 3’s victory and the Stars feature ex-U-M cornerback Channing Stribling (2013-16).
