ANN ARBOR -- Jim Harbaugh did it.
With less than two weeks before Michigan opened the 2018 season at Notre Dame, the Wolverines' fourth-year head coach pulled the trigger and revealed his starting quarterback come Sept. 1.
And really, it wasn't that big of a surprise. Most folks connected to the Michigan football program thought it was going to be Shea Patterson all along.
Why would he transfer from the University of Mississippi and go through a knock-down, drag-out fight with the NCAA over procuring a waiver just to play backup? In fact, Harbaugh's unwillingness to say much about the 6-foot-2, 205-pound in spring spoke volumes.
