ANN ARBOR, MI - Two of the University of Michigan's most thrilling performers will receive Distinguished Alumni Awards from the university during its Winter Commencement ceremony.
Heisman Trophy winner and former NFL Defensive Player of the Year Charles Woodson and actor, singer and songwriter Darren Criss are among the 10 Wolverine alums receiving the honor, which are bestowed in conjunction with UM's Bicentennial Celebration.
Woodson, the only primarily defensive player to win the Heisman Trophy, played a pivotal role on Michigan's 1997 National Championship team. His resume at Michigan was long, claiming Big Ten Rookie of the Year honors in 1995, first-team All-American in 1996, and winning the Walter Camp Award, Bronco Nagurski Trophy, Chuck Bednarik Award and Jim Thorpe Award, in addition to the Heisman, in 1997.
